Starkids Play School

You can find us right at Limaye Chowk, on Dhamani Road in Vishrambag. It's a busy corner here in Sangli. We have been operating this play school for some years now. The building is easy to spot once you get to the chowk. We spend most of our mornings dealing with toddlers and preschoolers. It gets quite noisy when everyone arrives at the same time. We have some colorful mats on the floor and some shelves where we keep the puzzles and stuff. The walls are painted, though some parts could probably use a fresh coat soon. We don't have a giant playground, but there's enough space for the kids to run around a bit. Sangli gets quite warm, so we make sure the rooms stay ventilated. Most of us working here are locals from the area. We know the parents and see them at the market too. It’s a small operation. We handle the cleaning ourselves and make sure the toys are put back in the bins every afternoon. Sometimes a lightbulb flickers or we have to fix a door handle, just regular building maintenance stuff. We keep it simple because that’s what works for small children. It’s just a neighborhood place where kids come to spend a few hours every day. We have a small desk near the door for paperwork. Often, we are just busy helping a child find a lost sock or handing out drawing paper. There isn't much more to it than that. It's just our daily routine in Sangli every weekday.
