Out here in the Kagal area of Kolhapur district, things are a bit different than the big cities. Our site is located in the middle of a more industrial and rural setting. It’s a large space because we need the room for our operations. The air is a bit clearer here, though it gets quite dusty when the trucks go by. We have a team of local people who come in from the nearby villages. The office part is just a small building on the side of the main facility. We have some sturdy desks and a lot of logbooks. It’s a practical environment. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the office and the work floor. Maharashtra’s weather can be unpredictable, so we’re always prepared for a sudden downpour during the monsoon. We don’t really do visitors much, so there’s no fancy waiting room or anything like that. It’s a place for hard work. We keep things running as best as we can. The commute for some of us involves a long bus ride or a motorcycle trip through the hills. We’ve been part of the Kagal landscape for some time now. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't use big words or have complicated meetings. We just look at what needs to be done for the day and we do it. The tea break is the highlight of the afternoon when we all gather around the small canteen. It’s a solid, no-nonsense workplace where the focus is on the job.
