Neeta Travels has a spot at Kavala Naka, right opposite Rajesh Motors. We are also pretty close to Babar Hospital, so that is how most people find us. It’s a very busy corner. There are always people milling about, waiting for their buses or asking about ticket prices. Our office is small and usually filled with the sound of the telephone ringing. I spend most of my shift looking at seat charts and writing out tickets for travelers. It gets a bit hectic when a bus is running late or when there’s a holiday coming up. We have a few plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait, but they are usually full. The smell of diesel from the motors shop across the way is something we’ve just gotten used to. We don’t use any fancy booking systems that are too complicated. It’s mostly just us and our ledgers. Being near the hospital means there is always traffic, so it’s never quiet here. I like the energy of Kavala Naka though. You meet all kinds of people going to different places. We try to keep things simple and just get everyone on their way. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it feels good when the bus finally pulls out and everyone is settled. We’ve been here for years, and Rajesh Motors and Babar Hospital are like our permanent neighbors on this street.
