L K Ply is tucked away at 530, E Ward, right in the middle of Vyapari Peth in Shahupuri. If you’ve ever walked through Vyapari Peth, you know it’s a place where everyone is buying and selling something. The air usually smells like dust and wood, which makes sense for what we do. Our shop isn't a showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a working space where sheets of plywood are stacked high. Sometimes the stacks get so tall you have to be careful how you move around. We’ve got different types of boards and ply leaning against the walls, and the floor is usually covered in a bit of sawdust by the end of the day. It’s a family-style environment here, even if we aren't all related. We drink a lot of tea while talking to customers who come in from the local area. Shahupuri is a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street coming through the front. We handle a lot of heavy lifting, moving the wood around for people to see or loading it up. It’s physical work and your hands get rough after a few years. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us.
