L D Textile is located at Plot No.21 in the Shivaji Market area of Gandhi Nagar. If you know Gandhi Nagar, you know how busy the markets get. Shivaji Market is always full of people looking for different types of cloth and materials. Our shop is right in the mix of all that activity. We spend our days surrounded by rolls of fabric and various textiles. The colors can be a bit overwhelming sometimes when a new shipment arrives and we have to find space for everything. It’s not a very big plot, so we have to be smart about how we stack the rolls so we can still walk around. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we know where everything is by heart. Customers come in and out, feeling the fabrics and asking about prices. We don’t do any big advertising; we just open the shutters every morning and start working. There’s a tea stall nearby that we visit a couple of times a day, and the sounds of the market are our constant background noise. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a few fans going to keep the air moving. It’s a basic life, focusing on the textiles and making sure the inventory is right. We’ve been in Gandhi Nagar long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers around here.
