Government Junior College For Girls

This college is right on Railway Station Road in Malur, over in the Kolar district. The address is A-02, Adarsh Nagar. Because we are so close to the station, you can often hear the trains passing by throughout the day. It’s a government-run place for girls, and it gets very busy when the local trains arrive since many students travel in from nearby villages. The building is an older one, with high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors you don't see much anymore. It has a bit of a worn-in feel, which comes from years of students walking the halls. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. There are desks, some old cupboards for files, and the staff room where everyone sits during the break. The road outside is always full of people, vendors, and commuters, so there is a constant hum of activity. We just focus on the daily routine of classes. It’s a practical environment. Sometimes the power goes out, or we have to fix a leak, but that’s just part of managing an old building in a town like Malur. The girls are mostly from working-class families around Kolar. We open the gates early and close them once the last office work is done in the evening. It’s a straightforward institution that serves the local area without any fuss or pretense.
