S'T Mary'S School

The school is part of the Church Building on Madapur Road in Suntikoppa, which is near Madikeri in Coorg. It is a very beautiful area with all the greenery and the hills around us. Because we are in Coorg, the weather is often misty or rainy, so the school has a certain feel to it that you don't get in the big cities. We have been here for a long time, and the building is quite traditional. It’s a local school where most of the kids come from the surrounding coffee estates and the small town of Suntikoppa. We don't have a big marketing department writing things for us. I’m just writing this to let people know where we are. The classrooms are simple, with old wooden furniture and blackboards. You can hear the church bells sometimes, which is a nice part of the day. The kids are generally well-behaved, though they get noisy during the lunch breaks like any other school. We just try to provide a steady place for them to learn. It’s a quiet life up here in the hills. We don't do anything too fancy, just follow the curriculum and make sure the school is kept clean. It’s a big part of the local community here, and everyone knows the way to the church building. Most of our days are spent navigating the rain and teaching lessons.
