Yemkey Steels

Yemkey Steels is located right on Jew Street, near T D Road in Ernakulam. It’s a very old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow. You have to be careful when bringing vehicles in here because of the tight corners. We’ve been at this spot for many years now. The building shows its age, but it’s solid enough for us. Inside, it smells like metal and old dust. We don't have much of a front office; it's more like a storage area with a desk in the corner. We deal with a lot of local builders and people doing repairs on their houses. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. Sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the noise of the street and the constant loading of goods. We don't use much technology here, just the basics to keep things moving. The weather in Ernakulam is usually humid, so we keep the big shutters open to let the air in. People stop by to check prices or just to see what we have in stock for their projects. It’s a straightforward business. No one here is trying to impress anyone. We just provide the steel and take the payments. It’s how it’s always been on Jew Street. It’s a bit messy, but it’s our way of doing things. We just keep at it.
