We are based at Navaratna House, number 946, which sits right on Jawahar Road in Mattancherry. It’s an old part of town with a lot of history, especially when it comes to the spice trade and everything related to it. Our spot is near the corner of Pandikudi Road, in the Shanthi Nagar Housing Colony area. Universal Oleoresins is really just about processing what the land gives us. It’s a bit of a maze around here with all the small streets, but once you find Navaratna House, you’re in the right place. The air around Mattancherry always has a bit of a scent to it, and we are part of that. We work with extracts and resins, which is a detailed job that requires some patience. It’s not something you can rush. The staff here has been with us for years, and they know the smells and textures of the products better than anyone. We don't have a shiny glass front or a receptionist. You just walk in and find someone working. We handle a lot of orders for different people, and every day brings something a bit different. Some days we are packing up big shipments, and other days we are just cleaning the equipment. It is a steady pace of life. Being in this specific part of Mattancherry feels right because this is where the heart of the trade has always been. We just keep doing our part every single day.
