Our office is located at P.O. Box No 503 on Bristow Road, right in the heart of Willingdon Island. It’s a historic area with a lot of old buildings and big trees. We’ve been here for a very long time, and the office reflects that. It’s not one of those modern glass buildings you see in the new parts of the city. We have high ceilings and lots of old files stored in heavy cabinets. The work we do involves a lot of meetings with local business owners and keeping track of trade in the region. It’s a quiet sort of busy. You’ll hear the sound of the ceiling fans and people typing most of the day. Being on Bristow Road means we are close to the water and the shipping activity, which is the whole reason we are here in the first place. We don’t go in for any promotional fluff. We just provide a place for people to get their trade documents sorted and discuss local industry issues. The staff knows the history of the island well. We often walk down to the wharf during our breaks just to see what's happening. It’s a very traditional environment. We aren't trying to be trendy or fancy. We just keep the records moving and help out the local companies when they have questions about how things work in Cochin. It's steady work that we take seriously. There is always someone here who can help out.
