Shini Steels & Cements

We have been running Shini Steels & Cements over here at 68, Pottakuzhy Road for some time now. It’s mostly about keeping enough stock of cement and different types of steel for whatever building work is happening nearby. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a place where we keep the bags dry and the steel rods organized so we can get them onto the trucks quickly. Dealing with construction materials means there is always a bit of dust around and things can get quite loud when the heavy loads are coming in or going out. We spend most of our day talking to local builders and people who are just trying to fix up their own houses. Every morning starts with checking what’s left in the shed and making sure we have the right grades of steel ready. Pottakuzhy Road can get pretty crowded, which makes backing the trucks in a bit of a challenge sometimes, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don't really do big advertising or anything like that, most people just know we are here and stop by when they need something for a foundation or a roof. It is straightforward work, really. Sometimes it’s just one or two bags of cement, and other times it’s a massive order that takes all afternoon to sort out. We just focus on getting the materials where they need to go without making a big fuss about it. We’ve been through many seasons here and know exactly how the local demand shifts.
