You will find R J Metals at the North End of Td Rd. This part of town is very industrial, so there is always a lot of metal and heavy machinery moving around. We deal with all kinds of scrap iron and steel. It is a dirty job, and to be honest, our hands are rarely clean. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. It is just a small shack where we keep our scales and the ledger books. Most of the work happens out in the yard. We have trucks coming in with old scraps and leaving with sorted metal. Td Rd can be tough to drive on because of all the big trucks, but we are used to it. We have been at this location for a long time now. People in the area know us as the place to go if they have metal to get rid of. We don't bother with advertising or anything like that. We just rely on word of mouth and people seeing our gate at the North End. It is a simple way to run a business. We weigh the material, we agree on a price, and that is it. There is no mission statement on the wall, just a dusty old calendar. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the yard. Other days are loud with the sound of metal being moved around. It is a gritty job, but it is our living.
