L & L Company

L & L Company is situated at 5 C on Medical College Road in Kolenchery. It’s a good spot because everything is close by, but the road out front stays pretty loud with all the ambulances and people heading to the hospital. We’ve been in this building for a while now. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. It’s just a few of us here. We spend a lot of the day on the phone or working through whatever paperwork is sitting on the desk that morning. It’s the kind of office where everyone knows where the good snacks are hidden in the drawers. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. People usually just walk in and find us in the back room. The weather in Kolenchery can be a bit much when the monsoon starts, and we often have to keep the door shut to keep the damp out of the files. We do a bit of everything that needs doing for the business to keep running. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. Mostly we are just in our regular clothes, trying to stay ahead of the deadlines. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to finish, and we just order some food from the place down the street. It’s just how we work here. We try to keep things simple and get the orders processed without making a fuss. Every day brings something different.
