Home Plastic is located at Number 18 in Chelamattom Village, right near the Sreekrishna Swamy Temple. It’s a nice spot, and we can hear the temple bells from the workshop during the day. We’ve been in this part of Perumbavoor for a long time. The business started small, just in a side room of our house, but it grew into the workshop we have now. We make various plastic items that families use in their kitchens and gardens. It’s a family-run thing, so you’ll usually find one of us around if you drop by. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just make the things people ask for and try to do it right. The village is small, so everyone knows where we are. Sometimes people stop by just to chat or ask if we have any spare buckets or bins. We keep the machines running most days, except for Sundays and festival days. The work can be repetitive, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we’ve grown to like. We handle the packing ourselves, often late into the evening if we have a big shipment going out to the shops in the morning. It’s not a glamorous life, but it provides for us and keeps us connected to the community here in Okkal.
