We are over at the Stadium Building, right in shops 17 and 18. It is a busy spot because the K.S.R.T.C bus stand is just right there. Most days start early for us. We get the shutters up and start moving things around before the crowds from the buses really start pouring in. It gets noisy with all the horns and people rushing to catch their rides, but you get used to it after a few years. My father used to say this location was the heart of the town. We handle a lot of different things here at C. C. Kurian And Company. Some people come in looking for specific parts, and others just want to see what we have in stock that day. The building itself is older, and sometimes the lights flicker, but it has character. We spend most of our time dealing with suppliers and making sure the inventory is right. It isn’t always easy keeping track of everything, especially when the afternoon heat kicks in. We usually take a break for tea when the sun is at its highest. Most of our regulars know to come by then for a chat. We don’t do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are because of the bus stand nearby. If you walk past the main gate of the station, you will see our sign hanging there. It’s a bit faded now, but it still does the job. It has been there for years.
