Kavalatt Steels & Cements

We’re situated right at Kuzhikkattumoola Junction on the Infopark Road in Kakkanad. Kavalatt Steels & Cements is basically a big yard and a small office. It’s a very busy intersection, so there’s always a lot of dust and noise from the construction going on nearby. We deal in heavy materials, so our days involve a lot of lifting and moving things around. The ground is usually covered in sand and bits of scrap metal. We’ve been at this location for a while, and we’ve seen the whole area change with all the new IT buildings going up. Even though things are getting modern around us, our shop stays pretty old-school. We use a lot of handwritten receipts and we know our regular truck drivers by their voices. It’s a tough job sometimes, especially when it rains and everything gets muddy. My brother manages the yard and I stay in the office to handle the orders. We don’t have any fancy marketing. People see our stacks of steel from the road and they stop if they need something. We offer what we have and we don't try to push anyone into buying more than they need. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We’re usually tired by the time we close the gates, but it’s a good kind of tired that comes from a day’s work.
