Excel Fabrications

We set up shop right across from the traffic police station here, just east of the collectorate. It gets pretty loud with all the sirens and the cars going by all day, but we have gotten used to it. Most days you’ll find us out front moving sheets of metal around or trying to organize the scraps. We’ve been at this for a while now, just working with steel and iron when people bring in their requests. Sometimes it is a gate that needs fixing or a frame for a small shed. The shop isn't fancy at all. There is dust everywhere and the floors are never really clean because of the grinding we do. We usually have the radio on to drown out the traffic noise while we weld. It is hot work, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We just take things one job at a time. If someone drops by with a sketch on a piece of paper, we look at it and see if we can make it work. It is not like those big factories where everything is automated. Here, it is mostly hands-on and a bit messy. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. That is pretty much how it goes for us. We open up early, get the machines humming, and stay until the work is done for the day. It is just what we do here near the station.
