Shivam Bricks Manufacturer

We are located in Village-Mulbandh, not too far from the Shakpara post office. If you ask anyone near the Kharagpur police station, they can probably point you toward our field. Shivam Bricks Manufacturer is just a local business run by people who grew up in Paschim Medinipur. We don't have any corporate training or big business plans. We just know how to work the soil here. It’s heavy work, especially during the summer months when the sun is beating down on the open fields. We start early, usually before the sun is even up, to get the mixing done. The mud is thick and gets on everything, from our boots to our hair. We use the traditional kilns because that’s what we have and it works well for us. We don't have a website or any ads in the papers. Word travels by mouth around here. Someone builds a wall, their neighbor asks where the bricks came from, and they end up at our gate in Mulbandh. We don't use any fancy talk or sales pitches. We just show the bricks and tell the price. Sometimes we have a coffee and chat with the drivers while they wait for the loading. It’s a slow pace of life but the work is constant. We just keep the chimney smoking and the stacks growing. Our hands are always dirty, but it's a good way to earn a living in the village.
