If you’re passing through Chowringee More in Satkoi, you’ll probably see our sign. We are Raj Brick, and we’ve been operating in Paschim Midnapur for years. It’s a straightforward business we’ve got going here. We take the earth and turn it into something people can use to build their lives. It’s dusty and hot work, especially in the middle of summer, but we don't mind it too much. My family has been involved in this for a while, so it’s just what we do. We don't have any polished sales pitches or glossy photos. What you see in the yard is what you get. We talk to people from the nearby farms and towns who are looking to put up a shed or a new room. Sometimes the kiln takes longer to heat up than we expect, and we have to tell people to wait a few days. Most understand because they know how it goes. We try to be fair with everyone who comes through. The location at the more makes it easy for trucks to pull in and out. We don’t spend much on anything except the wood and coal we need for the fire. It’s a very basic way of living, but it works for us. We aren't trying to be the most famous brick makers, just reliable enough so people keep coming back when they need more for their projects. It's just simple work.
