Stone Channel

Down here in Tarapur, things move a bit slower than in the big cities, but we still keep our hands full at Stone Channel. We are right across from the power house, so you can't really miss us if you are heading toward the Noorani Masjid. It’s a quiet spot most days, except for the sound of stones being moved around or the occasional tractor passing by. Cambay is home for us, and this village life suits the way we work. We started out small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage things ourselves. There is a lot of dust involved in this trade, and you’ll usually see us covered in it by noon. We don’t have a big showroom with lights or anything like that. It’s just the yard and the materials we have on hand. Sometimes neighbors stop by for a chat while we are working, which is nice. We know the roads around here like the back of our hand. Dealing with stone means you have to be patient because it’s heavy and doesn’t move unless you make it. We just open up early, see what needs doing, and get to it. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it long enough that the local people know where to find us. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Just a local spot in Tarapur that does what it can for the neighborhood.
