Mishra Enterprises

Barbil is a very busy town, and we are located right in the middle of it near the Punjab National Bank. It is a dusty place because of all the mining activity and trucks moving around here, so we are always wiping down the desks at Mishra Enterprises. The office is pretty simple. We have a couple of small rooms where we keep the records and a front area where people come in to talk about business. It gets really loud when the bank next door is busy or when the heavy ore trucks go past on the main road. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations, just some old calendars on the wall and a water cooler that makes a weird glugging noise every time someone uses it. My brother and I run things mostly, with a couple of local guys helping out with the deliveries and paperwork. We have been in this part of the district for years. You get to know everyone, from the bank tellers to the tea sellers on the corner. Work is usually steady, though some days are just a lot of waiting for papers to get signed or people to show up. We do not try to be anything we are not. It is a small enterprise, and we just take it one day at a time. The heat in the summer is probably the worst part of it, but we have some good fans and we keep the shutters halfway down.
