Tapan Kumar Naik

My name is Tapan Kumar Naik. I stay and work in a small place called Bhuluda, which is in the Keonjhar district of Orissa. If you’re looking for it, you have to go through Ukhunda. It’s a rural area, far from the big cities like Bhubaneswar. I live here with my family, and I handle my business from the same house. It’s not an office in the way people in the city think of one. We don't have air conditioning or glass partitions. It’s just a house made of brick and mortar where we do our daily work. I started this because there aren't many opportunities in the village, and I wanted to do something for myself. My father, Kumati Naik, is well-known around here, so people know where to find us. Life here moves at a different pace. We don't have the fancy technology or the fast internet they have elsewhere, but we make it work. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out. I don't have a website or any promotional stuff. People just come to the door when they need something. It’s a very practical, old-fashioned way of doing things. I take pride in being from Keonjhar and working right here in my own village. It's not a big corporate dream, just a way to live a good, honest life while helping the people around me.
