Our place is tucked away in Phase 3 of Gokul Dham, right over in the Rahul Bagh area. It’s mostly a warehouse setup where we handle the cement bags and keep things moving for local builders. The trucks usually roll in quite early in the morning to drop off the new stock. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the air always has that bit of fine dust that comes with cement work. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. Just a small desk where we keep the records and a couple of plastic chairs for anyone who needs to wait. My shirt usually has some white marks on it by the time lunch rolls around. We’ve got stacks of bags reaching almost to the ceiling most days. It’s a routine of checking the invoices and making sure the right amount goes out on the smaller delivery carts. The neighbors around here are a mix of other small businesses and some houses. Sometimes people from the neighborhood come by looking for just one or two bags for a patch job at their home. We try to be helpful when we can. The overhead fan in the office has a bit of a wobble to it, but it keeps the air moving. It’s not a glamorous job by any means, but it’s steady. We just show up, do the work, and try to stay organized in all the dust.
