Ultratech Cement

You can find us over in Village Patti, right near the New Bus Stand in the Badwara area of Katni. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but being near the bus stand means there's always something going on. We handle a lot of Ultratech Cement here. The village life is quiet, but the cement business keeps things moving. We spend a lot of time out in the yard, checking the stock and talking to the tractor drivers who come to pick up supplies. Tahsil Bijori can get quite dusty, especially in the dry months, so we're always sweeping the front. My nephew helps me out with the heavy lifting most days. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things. People just know we’re here by word of mouth or by seeing the bags stacked up near the road. It’s a lot of physical work, moving bags from the warehouse to the customers' vehicles. Sometimes we have tea with the regulars while they wait for their turn. It’s a simple setup we’ve got going in Jharela. We don't try to be something we're not. We just sell cement to the people who are building things in our district. It's a long day, starting before the sun gets too high and staying until the last customer leaves. Sometimes the Post Jharela mail takes a while to reach, but we don't mind the slower pace of things.
