Acc Cement

Our place is located right by the main ACC site. If you're looking for us, just head towards the cement works and you’ll see our spot nearby. We handle a lot of cement bags every single day. It’s dusty work, and there’s no getting around that. You can wash the floors in the morning and by noon they’re grey again. We have trucks coming in and out at all hours, loading up for construction sites around the area. It’s a simple operation. We move the bags from the stacks to the vehicles. The guys who work here have strong backs, which they need for this kind of labor. We’ve been situated here next to the plant for a long time. It makes sense for the logistics. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it’s mostly just the warehouse and a small shack where we keep the logs. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because you can't get the cement wet, so we have to move fast with the tarps. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't do much in the way of talking, we just get the orders filled and the trucks on the road. If you need cement, you know where the main plant is, and we’re right there next to it. It’s a noisy area with all the heavy machinery, but we are used to the sound of the engines and the loaders.
