Muhimmath Hifzul Quran College

Out here in Puthige, things move at a slower pace than the big cities. Our college sits in Kasaragod, surrounded by a lot of greenery and the kind of quiet you only get in this part of Kerala. The students here spend a lot of their time focused on their memorization. You can hear the rhythmic sounds of voices coming from the rooms throughout the day. It is a very specific kind of environment. We don't have big flashy signs or modern glass walls. The building is practical, built for purpose, and kept clean by everyone who stays here. We deal with the monsoon rains which can be quite heavy in this region, making the roof rattle a bit. Life follows the prayer times and the study schedules. Staff members look after the daily needs, from food in the kitchen to making sure the living quarters are alright. Most people in the local area know where we are. It’s a place of routine. Wake up early, study, eat together, and rest. Sometimes we sit outside when the weather is nice. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place for students to learn the Quran. It's just simple living and hard work. The students come from different families but they all live together here like brothers. It’s just what we do every day in this corner of Kasaragod without much fuss or any fancy additions.
