Green Hood School

Green Hood School is over on Pari Street, which is just off Chinna Aandan Koil Road in Karur. Our address is No 4/455, and it is a location that is fairly easy to get to for people living in this part of the city. The school is named Green Hood, though we are mostly surrounded by other buildings and the usual paved streets of Karur. We have a small entrance and a building that has been modified over time to fit more classrooms as we needed them. It is a neighborhood school, so most of the kids come from the houses just a few blocks away. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long, from the vegetable sellers on the street to the traffic on Chinna Aandan Koil Road. Inside, the rooms are painted in simple colors and we have the usual school furniture. We spend our time making sure the children follow the rules and stay on top of their lessons. There is nothing particularly fancy about our setup. We have a small staff of teachers who live nearby and walk to work. Every day is pretty much the same: we open up in the morning, the kids arrive with their bags, we go through the lessons, and then everyone heads home for tea. It is a steady, reliable place for the local families, and we just focus on keeping the school running without any drama or unnecessary expenses.
