Sarfaraz Chicken Corner & Hotel

Down here in Panipat, specifically in the Hudda Sector 11-12 area, things stay pretty lively most of the time. We are located in Mohall Goos Ali Shah, which puts us right near the Goos Ali Shah Dargah. You can usually hear the sounds and prayers from the Dargah throughout the day, which gives the whole street a certain feel. Our place, Sarfaraz Chicken Corner & Hotel, isn't very big. It is a corner spot where the smell of the cooking usually hits you before you even see our sign. We spend a lot of our time standing near the tandoor and the big stoves. It gets very hot and sweaty, especially during the Panipat summers, but that is just the nature of the job. We have a few tables and chairs set out. They are nothing too comfortable, but they get the job done for anyone looking for a quick meal. The neighborhood is a mix of local families and people just passing through for work. We see the same faces every week. It is not like those polished hotels you see in the city center. We keep the counters wiped down, but the walls have that aged look that comes from years of chicken being cooked. Sometimes the supply truck is late or the electricity cuts out for an hour, and we just have to manage. That is just life in this part of town. We just keep the food ready. (257 words)
