Being right on the National Highway means we see a lot of cars and trucks passing by at every hour of the day and night. The chowk is a well-known spot for anyone traveling this route. We are easy to spot because of where we sit right on the main road. It gets pretty loud with all the horns and engines, but that’s part of being a highway hotel. We have been here for a good long while now. The people who work here are mostly locals who know the area well. We don’t really do all that polished marketing stuff. We just focus on keeping the rooms ready for travelers who are tired of driving. Sometimes the dust from the road is a bit much, but we try to keep things as clean as possible. It’s a simple place for a stopover. You get your room, you get some rest, and then you’re back on the NH-1 the next morning. We’ve seen many changes to the highway over the years, but Jewel’s Chowk remains a constant for us. It’s a practical place to be if you are on a long trip. We just do our best to keep the lights on and the doors open for whoever needs a break.
