Prashanth Macharla

Prashanth Macharla here. I’m based out of Koratla in Andhra Pradesh. My house number is well known to the people living on this street. It’s a busy little town and the heat can get quite intense during the summer months, but we are used to it. The pin code here is 505326. I don’t have a flashy storefront or a big marketing budget. Most of my work comes from people who know me or were told about me by someone else. It is a straightforward way of doing things. I sit at my desk and handle whatever comes in. Koratla has a certain way of life, and I try to stick to that. I don’t use much technology beyond what is absolutely necessary. It keeps things simple and less prone to breaking. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of work. I grew up around here, so I know the local ways. I didn't want to move to a big city like Hyderabad just to start something. Being here allows me to stay connected to my community. It's a one-man show for the most part, though sometimes family helps out when a big job comes in. We don't have meetings or agendas. We just see what needs doing and we do it. It’s a practical way to live and work in this part of India.
