Godisela Sathish Travels

Godisela Sathish Travels is based right out of my house at number 5-6 in Upparlakesaram village. Kamanpur is the mandal we are in. Most days start with me checking the oil and cleaning the dust off the seats. The roads around here can be pretty rough, so the vehicles need a lot of looking after. I spend a lot of my time on the phone, talking to people who need a ride to the city or to a function in another village. Sometimes I am driving myself, and other times I am just coordinating where the car needs to be. It is not like a big city taxi company. It is more about knowing the people here and being there when they say they will be ready. I keep my keys on a hook near the door and a logbook on the dash. There is always a bit of sand on the floor mats no matter how much I sweep them out. The sun hits the front of the house hard in the afternoon, so I usually park in the shade of the big tree if I can. People know to come to my house if they can't reach me on the mobile. It is a lot of waiting around sometimes, then a lot of rushing to get somewhere on time. I know these roads like the back of my hand now. It is just me and the car and the road most of the day.
