English Union School

Jyoti Nagar is a bit busy these days, especially with being right behind the court. We’ve been at 2 10 853 for a long time now. People know English Union School because of the location mostly. The morning starts early here when the gates open. You can hear the traffic from the main road, but inside it’s just the usual sound of kids talking. The building isn’t new or anything, it has its quirks. Sometimes the paint peels a bit or the fans make a bit of noise, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time just making sure the desks are straight and the boards are clean before the first bell. It’s a lot of work running a place like this in Jyoti Nagar. The parents come by to talk about their kids, usually in the afternoons when it’s a bit quieter behind the court. We don’t have fancy stuff, just the basic classrooms and a bit of space for the students to move around. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we try to keep the windows open for whatever breeze comes through. Mostly, it’s just about getting through the lessons and making sure everyone is where they should be. It’s a local spot, nothing too grand, just a school where we show up every day and do the job. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers around here pretty well by now. Everyone just calls it the school behind the court and that’s fine.
