We are out in the Shahbad area of Baran district. Specifically, we're in Nataishahbad. Manik Dali and the rest of the family have been farming here for generations. Samraniya Farmer Producer Company Limited is our way of staying relevant in a world where everything is getting bigger and more expensive. We are small-scale farmers, but together we have a bit more weight. The address is at Manik’s place, where Lakshman Dali also stays. It’s a quiet area, mostly just fields and small houses. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to wait until we're done with the day's chores. We deal with the local crops that grow well in this Rajasthan soil. Sometimes the heat is unbearable, but the crops need tending anyway. We share things like tractors or sprayers when someone needs them. It saves us all a lot of money. We try to keep our records straight, though sometimes the government paperwork is a bit much for us. We just want to farm in peace and get a decent return for the work we put in. It’s a hard life, but it’s our life. We're proud of what we grow and how we've managed to stick together despite the tough years. The village is our home and we just want to see it do well. It's about looking out for each other when the markets are low.
