Sunder Engineering Works

Down here at 109/384 in Ram Krishna Nagar, things are usually pretty loud. Being near Gumti No. 5 means there is always traffic or something happening nearby. People around here know the Baba Singh Ki Dhal area well, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good stretch of time. Sunder Engineering Works isn’t a place where you’ll find anyone wearing a suit. We’re usually covered in a bit of grease or dust by lunchtime. The shop floor is full of tools and parts that have been around as long as I can remember. We spend our hours fixing things and making sure the machines are running like they should. It gets cramped when we have a lot of jobs piled up, but we manage to find space to move around. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat for a minute while we're working. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because people just know where we are. If you walk past the main road and head toward the dhal, you’ll hear the sounds of metal hitting metal. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We take our tea breaks under the shade when it’s hot. By the time we close up, our hands are dirty but the work is finished, and that is what matters most to us at the end of the day.
