Our place is at 84/20 in Fazal Ganj, tucked inside the J.K. Iron Steel Compound. It is a very industrial setting, so you have to watch where you walk because of the metal scraps and the heavy trucks. We share the compound with some other businesses, so there is always noise from grinding or engines running. It’s not a place for clean shoes, that’s for sure. We handle chemical distribution from here. The warehouse part of the building is always a bit dusty, but we keep the chemicals sealed tight. Most of our day is spent loading and unloading. We don't have fancy furniture or a reception desk. Usually, people just walk in through the big shutter and find us at the back near the small office window. Fazal Ganj has a lot of history with industry, and you can feel that when you work here. It is a no-nonsense kind of environment. We focus on getting the right quantities out to the factories that need them. Sometimes the iron works next door get really loud, and we have to shout to be heard on the phone. By the end of the shift, we are usually pretty tired, but the work is steady. We’ve been in this compound for quite some time now, and we know the gatekeepers and the other workers by name. It’s just a regular job in a tough part of town. The trucks start arriving early in the morning and we keep going until the last one is filled.
