Architecture Square

Architecture Square operates out of a residence office at 653, Faithful Ganj. We are located in the Kanpur Cantt area, which is a bit different from the rest of the city. Being near the Durrie Market means there is always a lot of activity nearby, with people moving goods and carts around. Our office is part of a house, so it feels very personal and lived-in. We have drafting tables set up in what used to be a living room. There are heaps of blueprints and yellowing traces lying around on every available surface. It is a bit of a walk to get here from the main road, but we like the quiet of the Cantt. The walls are thick and keep the heat out during the summer months. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one that lets people know they are at the right place. Most of our work is done on old wooden desks that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time discussing heights and dimensions while the ceiling fan hums overhead. It is a slow and steady kind of life here. We don't follow the usual corporate hours; sometimes we are here late when a project needs finishing. The local tea stall guy knows exactly how we like our tea, and he brings it over twice a day. It is just a small, honest practice tucked away in a corner of Faithful Ganj.
