Steel Tech

If you are walking down Goods Shed Road in Thalassery, you will see us right across from Hotel Salim Hassan’s Park View. It is a good landmark because everyone knows where the hotel is. At Steel Tech, we spend most of our time dealing with various metal pieces and getting things organized. It gets pretty loud on this road sometimes with all the trucks going by to the goods shed. We have been in this spot for a bit. It is not a huge place, but it works for what we need to do. Most mornings start with a tea from nearby and then we get to unloading whatever came in overnight. We see a lot of the same faces since we are right in the middle of things here in Thalassery. The shop is usually cluttered with offcuts and tools, but we know where everything is. It’s just me and a couple of others most days. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't busy. People usually come in looking for specific parts for their house or a small job they're doing nearby. We just look through the stacks to find a match. It’s straightforward work. The rain sometimes makes the road messy, but we stay dry inside under the tin roof. We don't really care much for being fancy as long as the work gets done.
