This university is located out in V.P.O-Dhameta, which is part of the Fatepur Tehsil in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Being out here in the hills makes for a different kind of atmosphere than a city school. It is a bit of a trek to get to us, but the air is clear and it is quiet enough to actually think. We have buildings spread out a bit, and they aren't the newest structures you have ever seen. We have classrooms and some office space for the staff. Most of the people here are from the local area or from neighboring parts of Kangra. It is a simple place where we try to teach the students what they need for their futures. We do not have a massive budget for fancy stuff, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes the mountain weather makes things difficult, like when the rain gets too heavy or the roads are slow. But life goes on. The staff here are mostly local folks who care about the community. It is a practical kind of education. We are not trying to be some world-famous institution; we just want to provide a place for learning right here in Dhameta. It is a slow pace of life, but the work gets done and the students seem to appreciate it. Everyone knows everyone else around here, which makes it feel like home.
