Sindhu Steels

We've got our place at number 45 in Injambakkam, right along the busy East Coast Road. Sindhu Steels is where we deal with all sorts of steel supplies for people building in this area. Being right on the ECR means we get a lot of people passing through on their way into the city. It's a bright area, but the air is quite salty because the sea is so close to us. We have to keep a close eye on our stock because of how the salt can affect the metal over time. The shop itself isn't anything special to look at from the road. It's just a sturdy, functional building with piles of steel rods and sheets inside and out. We spend our days talking to contractors and checking our inventory lists. It's a lot of manual work, moving the heavy metal around by hand or with the small hoist. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to handle our image. Most people just notice the sign while they're driving past and stop in if they need something. We keep the kettle going for tea throughout the day and wait for the next customer to pull into the lot. It’s a decent, quiet life for the most part. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide the steel that people need for their houses. We stay open a bit late sometimes if a customer is coming from far away.
