This office is located down in Chennai at Sri Sai Nagar in Thuraipakkam. We are in the Diamond Apartments on the first floor, which is a bit of a walk up the stairs. It is a quiet residential area compared to the main city center, but it keeps us away from the worst of the traffic. Since we are part of Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited, you might expect a huge glass tower, but this is our practical local hub. The rooms are plain and the fans are always spinning because of the Chennai heat. We have our files, some computers, and a small table where we take our breaks. It is a very simple environment. Most of the people working here live nearby or take the bus along the main road. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive carpets. The walls have a few calendars and some old notices pinned up. It’s a workspace for people who just want to do their hours and head home. Sometimes the water delivery is late or the internet gets a bit slow, but we just deal with it. It’s not a flashy corporate site. It is just where we manage the local side of things. We keep the windows shut to keep the dust out, but you can still hear the street sounds. It’s an honest, everyday office where work happens without any big speeches or celebrations.
