Our office is over on 28 Second Street in Annai Sathya Nagar. If you know the Poothapedu area in Ramapuram, we are right in that neighborhood. Chettinad Real Estate Group is a local operation through and through. We don't have a massive office in a skyscraper. It’s just a ground-floor space where we meet people to talk about land and houses. Real estate in Chennai can be pretty confusing with all the different rules, so we just try to keep it simple for folks. We spend a lot of time out on the road, looking at plots and checking on properties. It’s a lot of walking around in the sun and talking to owners. We’ve been in this part of Ramapuram for a while, so we know which streets are quiet and which ones get flooded when it rains. We don't do big glossy brochures. Usually, we just show people the actual sites and let them decide for themselves. It’s a small group of us here, mostly family and a couple of friends who know the business. We handle the paperwork, which can be a real headache sometimes, but it’s part of the job. If you come by the office and we aren't there, we are probably out showing a plot to someone. We just leave a note on the door. It’s a low-key way of doing things.
