Corporate Consultant Self Employment

We operate out of Kalpavriksha Apartments, which is building B 3 on Fourth Main Road in Nanganallur. Chennai is known for being hot, and Nanganallur is no different, but being in an apartment complex gives us a bit of a residential feel that we appreciate. The office is basically a flat that we have turned into a workspace. It is located on the fourth main road, which is a good spot because it is not as noisy as the bigger thoroughfares near the temples. We have some desks pushed up against the walls and a lot of books and manuals scattered around. Since it is a self-employment setup, the atmosphere is very relaxed. There is no dress code, and sometimes we just work with the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the coast, even if it is a bit humid. The kitchen in the apartment is where we make our coffee and store our lunch boxes. Most people who live in the building are retired or families, so we try to keep the noise down so we don't bother anyone. It is a very local way of doing things. You won't find any large neon signs here, just a small nameplate near the doorbell. We spend our days consulting on various projects, usually over the phone or through emails, while the ceiling fan spins overhead. It is a quiet, steady kind of life here in this part of Chennai for all of us.
