Kundrathur Collective Farmers Producer Company Limited is based over at 3/108, Palvadi Street in Athanancheri, right near Padappai. It’s a local operation, nothing too big or flashy. We started this because the farmers around here needed a way to stand together. Palvadi Street is usually quiet, but we have people coming in and out all day talking about their crops or the price of fertilizer. Being so close to Padappai helps us stay connected to the markets, but our heart is really in the soil of Athanancheri. The building at 3/108 isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we can meet and get our business done. We aren't big on titles or fancy corporate talk. Most of the time we are just wearing our work clothes and drinking tea while we figure out the next harvest schedule. It’s a collective, so everyone has a say, which makes things take a bit longer sometimes, but it’s the fair way to do it. We handle everything from seeds to selling, trying to keep the money in the pockets of the people who actually do the hard work in the sun. It’s a tough life sometimes, especially when the weather doesn't cooperate, but having this company makes it a little easier to manage the risks. We’re just regular folks from the neighborhood working together on Palvadi Street and doing the best we can with what we have.
