We are located at No. 20 in Bharathi Nagar, out in the Gerugambakkam area. It is a bit of a trek for some people to get here, but it is where we have the space we need for the equipment. Alsta Institute Of Welding Technology is not your typical classroom setup with rows of desks and quiet halls. Since we deal with welding, there is a lot of heavy metal, tools, and safety gear laying around the place. The workshop smells a bit like iron and burnt metal most days, but that is just how it is when you are working. We have some workstations set up where people can actually get their hands on the machines and learn the trade. It is not air-conditioned in the main work area, so it gets pretty warm when the torches are going in the middle of the day. We keep things simple here. We show people how to hold the torch, how to make a clean weld, and how to keep themselves safe. It is honest, physical work that leaves you tired at the end of the day. We do not have fancy carpets or expensive art on the walls of the shop. Mostly, it is just concrete floors and heavy tables. We have a small office area for the paperwork, but most of our time is spent out where the sparks are. People come here to learn a skill that actually matters in the real world.
