Gabhoru Organic Farmers Producer Company

We are based out of Purnima Saikia’s house in Bishnupurrangapara. Gabhoru Organic Farmers Producer Company is really just a bunch of us from around here who decided to work together. It’s a quiet spot, and you won’t see any big signs or fancy glass buildings. Most of the day, we are out in the fields or checking on what the other farmers are doing with their crops. Purnima handles a lot of the coordination from her home, which serves as our main office for now. It’s got a lot of character and usually a few cats running around the porch. We deal with the dirt and the rain and the bugs every single day. The work is hard and it doesn’t always go like we planned, but that is just life out here in the village. When we started this, we just wanted a way to make things a little easier for the local growers. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather because that’s what dictates everything we do. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in being a producer company, and honestly, none of us really enjoy that part as much as being outside. But we keep at it because it’s important to stay organized. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and going over the ledger books. We just take things one day at a time and try to handle whatever comes our way.
