Uma Mahesh

My name is Uma Mahesh, or S. Uma Maheswara Rao if you’re looking at my ID papers. I’m currently based out of Prathipadu Mandal in Uttarakanchi, Andhra Pradesh. I’m staying with Bheema Raju, who has been kind enough to let me set up my things here. It’s a rural area, very different from the big cities. Life here moves according to the weather and the crops. I don’t have a big company name or a fancy title. I just do what needs to be done. My day usually starts when the village wakes up. I spend a lot of time talking to people and helping out with whatever paperwork or small tasks they have. The house is a typical local one, nothing flashy. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so everything slows down then. I didn’t come here to build a big empire. I just wanted a place where I could work quietly and be part of a community. People know me by name, and that’s enough for me. We don’t have high-speed everything here, so you have to be patient. It’s a simple existence, but it’s real. I’m not interested in polished business deals. I just want to provide a bit of help to the folks around Prathipadu. It’s a good place to be if you like a bit of peace and quiet. I have a small garden out back that I tend to when things get slow. It's mostly just vegetables for the kitchen, but it's nice to see things grow.
