Bhagirath Sea Food

Bhagirath Sea Food is over at No. 98 in the Jatti Plot area, right on Bandar Road. Being so close to the water means we get that salty sea breeze every day, which is nice except for when it makes everything rusty. The shop is a simple place with plenty of cold storage and a lot of crates stacked up everywhere. We get our stock early in the morning when the boats come in, so the place is a hive of activity before most people are even awake. It’s a bit of a messy job, dealing with ice and water and fish all day, but we don't mind it much. The floors are always wet, and we all wear heavy rubber boots to stay dry. We don't have a fancy showroom or a website with lots of pictures. Most of our customers are people who come down to Bandar Road because they know that's where the fresh stuff is. It can get pretty loud with all the shouting and the trucks moving around the Jatti Plot. We've been here for years, and the neighbors are all in the same line of work, so we all know each other. It’s a tough way to earn a living, especially when the weather is bad and the boats can't go out, but it's what we know how to do. Sometimes we just sit on the crates and watch the harbor while we wait for the next delivery to arrive.
