Venusa Hair Saloon

If you know Jodhpur, you know how busy Chopasni Road gets, especially near Bombay Motors. That’s where our saloon is. It’s a small place, nothing too big. We have a couple of chairs that have seen a lot of years, but they still work fine. Most of the men from around here come in for a shave or a haircut when they have some free time. In the summer, it gets really hot, so we keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s not a fancy air-conditioned lounge, just a regular shop where you can get your hair sorted out. We talk about the local news, the weather, or whatever is happening on the street. Some guys have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own sons. It’s funny how time passes like that. We use the same old razors and scissors, keeping them sharp. There’s always a bit of hair on the floor because someone is always getting a trim. We don’t really do anything complicated. Just basic cuts and shaves. Sometimes the chai wala from next door brings over a few cups, and we take a five-minute break. It’s a loud, dusty part of town, but we like it here. People know they can just walk in, wait their turn, and walk out looking a bit more decent. We don’t have any big signs or posters, just the name Venusa on the front of the shop.
