You can find Varun Bags at shop number three on 1st C Road in Sardarpura. It’s a decent-sized spot, but we’ve managed to fill every inch of it with bags of all shapes and sizes. We’ve been here in Sardarpura for a while now, and we’ve seen the road change quite a bit over the years. The shop has a specific smell of leather and new fabric that you notice the second you step inside. We don't have any polished sales pitches or a fancy uniform. Usually, we’re just wearing whatever is comfortable for moving heavy boxes around. The counter is a bit scratched up from years of sliding bags across it for people to look at. We spend a lot of time checking zippers and seams because we don't want anyone coming back with a broken bag two days later. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. Some days the sun hits the front window and makes it really hot inside, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We aren't interested in being the biggest bag shop in the city, we just like our corner here on 1st C Road. It’s a steady pace of life. We chat with the other shopkeepers and watch the traffic go by. There’s always someone looking for a sturdy bag for school or work, and we just show them what we have on the racks and let them decide for themselves.
