V N Boy Look Hair Saloon

Down here in Jhanwar, near the Br Birla School, the dust really flies when the wind picks up. Our saloon is in the Uit Colony part of Jodhpur, and it’s a pretty straightforward setup. I spend a lot of time just keeping the place cool for whoever walks in. We have these blue chairs that are a bit worn out but still work fine. Since the school is so close, we get a lot of younger boys coming in after their classes are done, especially on Saturdays. It gets noisy then with all the shouting and laughing. I keep a few bottles of water in a small fridge in the back because the Jodhpur sun is no joke. The walls are painted a simple white, and I’ve got a couple of posters of different haircuts up there, though people usually just tell me what they want anyway. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the families around here. It’s not a place where you come for anything fancy. You just sit down, get your hair cut, and maybe have a glass of water before heading back out into the heat. The scissors need sharpening every few weeks, and the combs are always soaking in a jar on the counter. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way because it keeps things easy for everyone involved.
